Healing Spirit
Cancer. If someone even says the word under their breath, they might as well have screamed it across the room. The word gets your attention, especially when you hear it attached to your name.
As a 10 year cancer survivor and a nurse of many years, I understand the impact of this word, the disease itself and the need for healing on a physical, spiritual, emotional and mental plane. I have been on a spiritual path throughout my life, but my diagnosis brought me closer to my spirit-self. This reality has pulled me down a pathway to healing that has redefined my life choices.
Spiritual healing is often-times ignored after going through a traumatic event, or just living through day to day stress factors. We are so focused on ridding our bodies of this disease or fighting everyday battles that we forget our spiritual body requires attention too.
In exploring various spiritual healing modalities, I recognized that energy healing, such as Reiki, was a powerful healing tool for our spiritual and physical body. The Reiki practitioner acts as a conduit for universal energy to flow through, administering to those in need of healing. This is an energy induced practice, yet a calming, peaceful healing experience. It can eradicate or lessen physical pain/inflammation and bring balance to our spirit. To those who are near death, it lessens their anxiety and creates a much more relaxed passing to the other side. Often it is depicted as ‘hands on healing’. Reiki is often used in hospice centers, and I believe could become a healing modality incorporated into hospital based care in the future. It’s acceptance is growing worldwide and will benefit all of us as individuals and as a humanity.
I became a Reiki practitioner not only to help others, but to help myself. You are able to perform Reiki anywhere, anytime, and at long distance when necessary.
There are other modalities that heal spirit, but one that I work with is via a psychic and medium pathway. There is nothing that brings more solace and comfort to others than knowing what their future may hold, and communicating with those who have passed before them, who are readily available to communicate. I am able to open this spiritual door and help others face their future. This capability is just as accessible, as is Reiki, to everyone.
Cancer teaches us lessons with some being difficult to grasp. There are the questions of ‘why me?” The ‘what if’s?” The “if only” thoughts that we have all had, and the answers to these seem to be out of reach. They are not. Heal your spiritual body and you will be able to answer your questions. It is like the fog burning off as the morning sun rises. Suddenly, everything is just so clear!
